Mary Mac's Tea Room - $1,000
After World War II, many women in Atlanta who had been widowed were searching for ways to support their families. At the time, women were not permitted to open restaurants, so they turned instead to a more genteel enterprise—the tea room. Mary MacKenzie was among the women who opened one of 16 tea rooms across the city. Today, Mary Mac’s Tea Room is the only one that remains. Step back in time for a Southern meat and three dining experience.
