"Nocturne 12:02 AM" was painted in Gloucester, Massachusetts on a chilly October night. This view was looking across to the working waterfront of the city. The composition of lights presented themselves to me as musical notes across the darkness of the horizon. Originally painted en plein air, I reworked "Nocturne 12:02 AM" in the studio a bit readjusting some of the values of dark and light.
